The final price is $4/lb hanging weight, and does not include processing. The average hanging weight of a half is 90-100 pounds. Depending on your desired cuts of meat, you'll take home approximately 60-70 pounds of meat. Processing averages $200 for a half, depending smoking, curing and sausage.
Your order may be picked up directly from the butcher or from our farm. Free delivery is available within 25 miles of Farmersville, Tx. Our butcher is located in Detroit, Tx, near Paris.

How it works:
1. You'll be charged a non refundable $150 deposit, to reserve your half. This covers the deposit we pay to the butcher, and helps us cover the cost of feed while we are raising it.
2. Two weeks before the butcher date, we'll contact you with the custom cut sheet. We'll walk you through selecting your cuts of meat.
3. The pigs will go to the butcher, and we will bill you the balance owed, based on the hanging weight.
4. Processing takes 2-4 weeks. We will contact you when your meat is ready. You'll pick up your order at the butcher, and pay them for the cost of processing.
Example:
Whole hog hanging weight = 200lb, Half = 100lb x $4/lb = $400
Processing = $200
Deposit = $150, $25 goes toward processing, $125 toward the cost of the pig.
$400-$125 deposit = $275 Due to Prairie Grove Farm after the pig is dropped off at the butcher
$200- $25 deposit = $175 Due to Processor at pickup
Total Cost = $600
