Feeder Pigs
We currently have ten breeding sows that we are raising on pasture with pasture rotation. They farrow throughout the year without the use of confinement or farrowing crates. We provide them hay and shelter in dense cedar trees, so they are able to choose their farrowing location and build a nest for their piglets.
The piglets stay with their mamas for at least 6 weeks. She provides them with milk, warmth, and protection as they grow.
After 6 weeks, they are weaned and available for purchase. We sell gilts and barrows to farmers and families who finish them out for high quality pork.
Our heritage breed pigs are a cross between Red Wattle, Berkshire, and Old Spot. They reach market weight in 8-10 months on pasture with a grower feed ration. The meat is dark red and flavorful.
Our feeder piglet availability varies throughout the year, so contact us for information.
